Lacta Mondelēz – See The Love (2020) 2:00 (Greece)

As a special ad that began airing for Valentine’s day in Greece, this ad tells the stories by not showing you the full picture. This neat storytelling trick was famously used in “points of view” newspaper ad with the skinhead running, back in 1986. Well, here we have a young man pushed into a pool. What looks like a lesbian couple going to see one of their parents. A heavily pierced and tattooed woman meeting her clean-cut inlaws. Two men preparing for a fight. But as the full picture is revealed, it wasn’t negative responses from anyone, it was all open arms and happiness, surprise parties and the handsome gay couple helping each other move a couch into their new apartment. It’s very much a see beyond the first impression storytelling. Interesting tactic. Now, what does all of this have to do with chocolate? And why are all ads two minutes long these days?
